Karunai kizhangu masiyal Recipe | YAM Recipe | Lunch

Ingredients Needed:

Karunai Kizhangu /Yam -250 gm

Small Onions shallots - 30 shallots

Tomato - 1 piece (medium)

Samabar Powder - 1 tsp

Chill Powder - 1 tsp

Turmeric - 1 tsp

Salt - Required

Water - 1 - 1/4 cup


For the seasoning:

Oil - 4-5 tsp

Mustard seed - 1/2 tsp

Fenugreek - 1/4 tsp

Urad Dal - 1 tsp

Curry Leaves - 2 Sprig

Methods:

  1. Heat the pan & add 4 tsp of oil , add mustard seeds , Ural dal, Fenugreek seeds.

  2. Add the Small onion , Tomato , mix it well. all the items should comes together.

  3. add salt as per your taste, so that tomato will cook easily. mix it well

  4. all these process you have keep the flame on low

  5. add curry leaves, Yam into the pan , Mix it well.

  6. Add turmeric , Chill powder , Samabar powder and mix it well.

  7. if needed , add one more tsp of oil.

  8. cook for 5 mins and then add the water 1-1/4 cup of water. If needed you can add more water

  9. Now keep the flame in high and mix it well.
